Using Postini Service to Manage Spam
Postini is a third-party software partner that CTB uses to manage spam. Postini catches spam before it comes to the server and keeps it from filling up your inbox. CTB provides Postini services to hosting clients for $1 per email account per month.
When your Postini account is activated, you will receive a welcome message from Postini that includes your temporary password. Your user name is your email adress. We recommend that you copy and paste the password into the login page, as it eliminates confusion between 'l's and '1's and 'O's and '0's.
Occasionally, Postini will send you a notification that it has quarantined messages. This message will contain a link to your message center. When you receive a message from Postini, you'll want to log in and make sure that it has not quarantined legitimate email messages. You'll see a screen that looks like the one below:
When you've logged into your Postini account, you will be able to quickly skim through quarantined messages, determine why they may have been quarantined and deliver any legitimate messages. To have a quarantined message delivered, click the check box that is on the left, and then click "Deliver".
When a message has been delivered, you can choose to have all messages from that email address delivered straight to your inbox. Simply check the box and click "Approve selected sender".
When you're finished checking your Postini account, make sure you log out until the next time you receive a notification.
